New ranges of Quantiofix peroxide test strips

Peracetic acid is a popular disinfectant. It is used for example by beverage manufacturers for cleaning bottles and containers and in dialysis centers to clean machines.

After disinfection, careful rinsing is necessary. Quantofix Peracetic acid test strips allows the quick and easy check of rinse water.

These simple to use test strips have always been available in 0-25, 0-100 and 0-1000mg/l Machery Nagel have now added 0-50, 0-500 and 0-2000mg/l to this range. All Quantofix are available from Camlab in the UK with our usual quick turnaround and expert technical advice.

The product has also been recently inproved, previously the peroxide test had to be kept cool in a refridgerator, all current versions can be stored at room temperature with a shelf life of  2.5 years.

New Sample coolers from Techne

Two new innovative sample-cooling products from Techne available from Camlab.: the N° ICE is an electronic ice bucket containing ceramic-coated beads and the BL°CKICE cools tubes held in two Dri-Block^® inserts. Both the N° ICE and BL°CKICE are ideal for incubating samples for short or long periods at temperatures down to 0°C – no more tubes floating in boxes of melting wet ice!

Innovative bead technology enables the N° ICE to maintain any set temperature in the range 0 to 40°C, for example to keep reagents at 4°C throughout the working day. The small autoclavable and chemically resistant beads give the N° ICE  the versatility to support sample or reagent vessels of any shape. Cooling time can be saved by keeping the bucket of beads in a fridge overnight and simply inserting it into the N° ICE  when needed.

The BL°CKICE , Techne’s first cooling block, offers the same 0 to 40°C range as the N° ICE, but with more accurate temperature control and additional timer and alarm features. This product holds different sized tubes in two standard aluminium block inserts from the Dri-Block range. Fast cool-down times ensure the unit is quickly availably for use. An integrated timer allows up to 9 days to be programmed, with a buzzer sounding when the set temperature is reached and at the end of the elapsed time.
The BL°CKICE also accommodates the N° ICE bucket of beads, if required.

The novel N° ICE and BL°CKICE will prove ideal sample-cooling solutions in life science and molecular biology laboratories, providing accurate, stable sub-ambient temperatures for a wide range of applications. Both products can display temperature to one decimal place in either degrees Centigrade or Fahrenheit.
